Adrianna: Seven

The maternity pay wasn't much but it was enough to get some essentials for Gemma. Having a toy to play with was proving to be a good thing as it allowed Adrianna time to get things like cleaning and lunch done without a little one underfoot.

Toys also made it easier for her work outs, Gemma would just play quietly while she spent an hour exercising in front of the TV.

Adrianna still made plenty of time for her little girl however. She was sure to set time aside every day for potty training, walking, and talking. Gemma had only learned a handful of words but every bit helped.

Adrianna couldn't help but smile every time she put her little girl down and would hear Gemma say "Nigh mama."

The next morning Adrianna went into labor. She called a sitter as she rushed out the door hoping once again for a girl.

Her wish was granted when little Noelle was born just an hour later. Though Adrianna hadn't really expected him to she was glad Isidro didn't show up for the delivery, hopefully she'd never hear from him again.

“You have a baby sister Gem.”
“ister!” Gemma squeeled.
“That’s right so you better watch out for her… that’s what big sisters do.”
“Me BIG!”
“You are too cute.”

After putting the girls down for a nap Adrianna got some chores done. Tomorrow she’d finally be going back to work and she didn't want the sitter to see her house in disarray.

Then of course she squeezed in one more workout knowing tomorrow would be rough.

“You girls be good.” Adrianna whispered as she snuggled Noelle before dashing out the door for work. As she expected work was rough, it turns out while she’d been on leave poor Jared had passed away and now she had a new partner.

Brent Cunningham, her new partner, was a nice guy with his own small family he and his fiancé Aria had just had a little boy. The two of them got along really well which made for a good work day and brought in a nice promotion. She also received her holiday bonus which was enough to build the girls a small room of their own.

While their mother worked the girls were at home with their babysitter Fidel who was surprisingly great with them. Adrianna was surprised after all the horror stories she’d heard from other moms about their starving babies. Every day when she returned home the girls were fed, changed, and content as could be. Gemma really enjoyed his company since he’d sit and play the xylophone with her for hours.

Since Fidel was so great Adrianna asked him to stay late one night so she could go to the club and have a few drinks. She then took to the dance floor with a guy from the bar, who was thankfully married and had no interest in pursuing her which was perfect since Adrianna was done with dating.

When she got home late that night Noelle was fussing so she scooped her up giving her a big snuggle. “In just a few days you’ll be running around here just like your sister.” She told her. Two toddlers… what was she going to do?

***********

Fairly short chapter but things don't really get all that interesting till Gemma becomes a child since that's the point where I started taking a lot more pictures.
